Let's agree to disagree right now. This is just 100% stupid. You cannot compare at&t to microsoft, it just doesn't work... and save your breath, I know you are democrat till the day you die, so I expect you will try and make excuses, but it's just a pile of horseshit. Steve, It would seem you know little about American history; if you did, you wouldn't be going on this democrat vs republican binge wrt anti-trust laws. Anti-trust laws result from the enlightenment and not the decay of the USA. At the time these laws were enacted, American corp. were engaged in extremely unfair pricing and selling practices....the customer was gouged on so many levels it was pitiful. I am not sure there were democrats and republicans at that time. These laws were intended to protect the little guy....you and me (you can talk republican all you want but like me, you have yet to make your first million). The corporate chiefs at that time were referred to as barons...as in lumber baron or steel baron, and their rule was over commerce. As for MSFT the major issue the DOJ has gone after was the bundling of their browser, which many at the time felt was inferior to Netscape, with their operating system. Many felt that it caused the decline in usage of the netscape browser....this was after MSFT's OS already dominated the marketplace. And I agree with the premise. Do I like what the gov't is doing? No, MSFT is a major player in this town and puts a cloud of uncertainity over the whole place. My friends who own MSFT stock and there are a lot in this town are worried. Do I agree with the DOJ's decision? Yep, its sends a message out to the rest of high tech....no one wins when a company dominates a market except the one that dominates....sound familiar?!! ted
