Well, having some first hand knowledge of the Vietnam situation I'm not sure it was exactly the same. Many of those children from Vietnam were willing handed off by their parents to the fleeing Americans in 1975. They knew what was in store for them as US sympathizers when the Cong and NVA arrived. Their fears were not unfounded as we now know. Thousands were executed or imprisoned. Over a million made it out as refugees to this country alone. That does not account for the additional thousands who perished as did Elian's mother. JLA PS I'll let that "softy" crack slide this time. <g>
