Enforma System, a weight-loss operation that used former Padres star Steve Garvey in its infomercials, has agreed to return $10 million to purchasers of its products, following the filing of a complaint by the Federal Trade Commission.
The FTC said the Los Angeles company's "Fat Trapper" and "Exercise in a Bottle" products didn't come close to performing as advertised. For example, the Enforma System was said to help burn calories while a person stood around or slept -- an utterly unsubstantiated claim, according to the FTC.
Yet Morgan Stanley, still has Enforma System on its strong buy list.
