According to this data, most of DISH's float is owned by institutions (insiders still own 88% too). biz.yahoo.com

The top holders are major names too: biz.yahoo.com

Still looks to me as if the company is betting the farm on finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

DISH's expansion is not much different from cable TV companies. That's why it is valued in more or less the same way by analysts.

GILTF - yes I know it, since we own both DISH and GILTF in the fund that I manage. It is a very good satellite equipment play, along with several others that have done well in the past year. That is a good sector to play in general.
