Mani,

Perhaps Netscape was a good browser then, but it sucks now. They skipped Version 5 to 6 hoping that no one would notice so that it would seem that they are ahead of IE 5.5 Netscape has terrible Java implementation too. Still overall the two browsers are about equal. I don't see car companies getting yelled at because they make their own radios or cd players or whatever. What is wrong with improving Win98? How come nobody yells at Microsoft for having Solitare or Minesweeper? Why not just strip the OS to nothing? Microsoft built the product, they can do whatever they want with it. Why can't they? It's their product! All the companies do is whine, they should make an awesome OS that is compataible with windows software and market it instead of getting lawyers. Oh and I don't see Timna getting yelled at either. Intel is expanding its market into graphic chips! Must stop Intel before they totally dominate it! Uhhh, government punish companies for being too successful.... it would set such an ugly precedence....... I'm going to stop now because my writing is becoming prosaic.

Your Friendly World Controller, Paul Ma

Mani,

Netscape was clearly a better product, but people started to use explorer because MSFT leveraged its monopoly in the separate market of OS.

I don't know about other people, but I started using the Explorer when it became a better product. Netscape executives were just too busy trying to take over the world (the same thing as they are accusing Microsoft was doing) to write good code, and to improve their product.
