Re: "If it heads up that will be great. But unless Rick Sherlund comes out and says it should trade above 65-70, I won't be hopeful. He is the one (whether you like it or not) money managers listen to. He may come out after June Q report. "

Jond . You shouldnt pay any attention to 'analysts'. They are essentially 'technical salespeople' for the brokerage firm. They also have completely different timescales and benchmarks than the private investor.
Analysts are constantly measured either against the S&P or Nasdaq over a 3 month period. Therefore they will issue a 'sell' recommendation on a stock if they think that it will underperform over the next 3 months.
In 3 months time they may well issue a 'buy' recommendation if they think the stock will outperfrom over the next 3 months (In most cases the stock has risen higher than the original price at which they issued a sell recommendation).

If you are an 'investor' then your only decision is whether the stock will go higher over the next 2-3 years. AT these levels MSFT is a good long term investment.

By the way , using short term covered calls is a good way to get a 'reasonable' yield over the short term whilst the stock trades sideways . I would look at the July series to sell short term calls against.
