Too bad we couldn't start our own message board. We could call it IF for Investor Fraternity. We would run it just like a college fraternity. New members would be put on probation and have to be approved by existing members. A member who got out of line could be expelled - some sort of black-ball system could be devised.

Face it, the thing SI has forgotten is that content is everything. I came here because I wanted to read the opinions of well-informed people not to engage in juvenile debates or a pissing contest of who is smarter or richer. If you don't monitor the quality of the posters you lose everything and become Yahoo! If you keep people out by making the entrance fee too high you exclude too many people. The best people to monitor the posters are other members. They should decide on who can contribute to the content because it is they who have the most on the line.

You know, I'm almost mad enough to try and do it.
