Most Americans are family oriented and hard working- wouldn't you say? Do you realize that bigotry and prejudice apply to positive traits as well as negative traits. I would not want to stereotype the Cuban community in any particular way- yet you leap to stereotype them because you seem to feel you and your friend seem to feel you are on their side. Stereotyping of any kind is generally perceived as harmful. Asian Americans (our "model" minorities) have been saying this for at least a decade. It is most humorous that you use bigoted and prejudiced language to call other people racists.

I also have Cuban friends and have observed that, consistently, they are hard working and extremely family oriented. What exactly does this have to do with the issues? Juan is Cuban as are the rest of the family members still in Cuba. Therefore they must be hardworking and family-oriented. That means we should send him back there. ????? Donato Dalrymple isn't Cuban. Whooops! Get him away from that kid. Lozaro hasn't been employed for several years until the Cuban Group got him a job. Are you sure he's Cuban???? He might not be--- he hasn't been hard-working enough! Mariselysis seems to have some pretty serious emotional problems. I don't know where that puts her racially. I mean- what is your POINT?? This has nothing to do with with racism! BUt of course, that's so easy. I've been married 22 years, and my husband has never been out of work, and we treasure our family above all else- I think we must be Cuban.

The U.S. rate of divorce is over 50%. In the Cuban community, divorce is almost unheard of! Racists don't like to see other races doing better than themselves. Sad, huh? << The ones berating probably have zero first hand knowledge but just a bit of bias against those different from themselves. >> The Miami Cuban Exiles aren't the first to experience this type of racism. The Irish went thru it, the Jews went thru it, etc. We should embrace our differences, not alienate against them.
