RBC Dominion Starts Coverage On 32 Oil &
Gas Producers

NEW YORK -- RBC Dominion Securities started coverage of 32
independent U.S. oil and gas producers Friday, saying the companies' shares
could appreciate as much as 40% in the coming 12 months.

"The operating environment is better than it has been in some time," John
Selser, the firm's director of U.S. oil and gas research, said in a research note.
"Oil and natural gas prices are significantly higher than a couple of years ago
and, although we have seen some appreciation in the underlying equities, we
believe the group remains as much as 40% undervalued."

Rated at strong buy were Apache Corp. (APA), Burlington Resources
(BRR), Chieftain International (CID), Cross Timbers Oil (XTO), Devon
Energy Corp. (DVN), Forcenergy (FORC), Kerr-McGee Corp. (KMG),
Key Production (KP), Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas (LD), Ocean Energy
(OEI), Pogo Producing (PPP), Prima Energy Corp. (PENG) and Vintage
Petroleum (VPI).

Stocks rated at outperform were Anadarko Petroleum (APC), Barrett
Resources (BRR), Callon Petroleum (CPE), EOG Resources (EOG),
Evergreen Resources (EVER), Forest Oil Corp. (FST), Meridian Resources
(TMR), Pennaco Energy (PN), Santa Fe Snyder (SFS), St Mary Land &
Exploration (MARY), Triton Oil Ltd. (OIL) and Unocal Corp. (UCL).

Started at neutral were Basin Exploration (BSNX), Newfield Exploration
(NFX), Nuevo Energy (NEV), Spinnaker Exploration (SPNX), Tom Brown
(TMBR) and Union Pacific Resources (UPR).

McMoran Exploration (MMR) was rated underperform.
