You know- I don't know where you get your information- but parents in Cuba are raising their children. They often live in extended families, or close by their grown children. I don't see that as parents having no "possession" of their children.

They have possession until age 11 as long as the guardian is instilling communist thought into the child.

Elian, since he has come to the attention of Castro, is going to a re-Ed facility to be purged of any harmful non-communist ideas he may have picked up.
