Uncle West, I'm going to have to disagree with you here. For the most part I think the correction is done. And I don't think it was a correction, we went through a full blown bear market.

5 years ago this bear market would have taken 6 months but in today's market things happen alot faster. I don't think anyone expects the market to go straight up from here. I think the one thing that we can all learn from the first 4 months of trading this year is that markets are becoming increasingly more volatile, this will not change.

Although there is quite a bit less money out there than there was 2 months ago, I don't think that will make too much of a difference. All of the money that was chasing the dotcoms to dizzying heights will now be chasing fewer stocks, namely tech stocks will solid growth and solid earnings.

IMO, the new bull market in tech started this week. The DOW rally has just about run its course and we should see money moving back into tech at an increasing rate over the next few weeks.

I agree UW on being careful in this market. ST I believe we are up then a roller coaster as the fed action and the summer sets in. NTAP still has some room, SEBL and NT as well (NT will split in a week or so). Siebel has more good news coming and .. unless we get another market melt down.. a split is yet to be announced(yes I know splits don't change the value of my shares but they tend to cause a run up). NTAP is going into a strong earnings report and will come in after CSCO's earnings. CSCO should help validate and encourage the market. I agree.. don't buy anything that I either ...

a) don't plan (and have confidence in) flipping quick .. or..
b) have total comfort (and margin availability) owning long term

OR better yet.. have confidence in both routes .. e.g. NTAP excellent company that is heading into a strong earnings and will be extremely strong for quite a long period to come.

Thanks for validating my 'gut' feel UW. I was extremely tempted to really 'go for it' Friday and next week and 'that little something' on the inside kept saying..
'be patient'.. 'little bit at a time...' and 'pick the one you feel is 'it'.. Silly I know.. but I read up on everything I can.. check charts (although they are all blown to smitherines right now..) and then just take a walk .. throw it all aside.. and follow my gut feel.
