By sending Elian back we are doing the right thing. He could be killed here by a classmate with a gun, he could be killed there if he run's afoul of the law. So he could die anywhere. And he can probably be happy anywhere. He was a happy boy in Cuba he seems to be happy here. My guess is his physical safety is more assured in Cuba. His future as a free thinker is more assured here. SO what? Do we as a free society have the right to "force" people to be like us? You just don't get the concept that part of freedom is allowing people the choice NOT to be free. You can join a cult in this country if you want to- you can surrender your free will to an organization. That is a choice we must allow people to make. JUST as we must allow people to choose to live in communist countries if they wish.

You go on and on and on about freedom- but you do not understand what freedom means. It is sad.
