...and thus we have laws against illegal monopolies. This is a good law, which some SI members here seem to misunderstand.

RE:"What the law wants is a level playing field where more than one competitor is fighting it out. They do allow however that the original creator of an idea, or his agents, time to exploit it before everyone can use it. This last capability is why most of the startups find the US a good place to do business."

I think you are missing the point.

Petz Re...<<<<<<<<The Judicial system really hates it when someone out and out lies to them. >>>>>

Pete, While I agree with th tone of your message, the simple fact is that nowadays, expert witnesses are nothing more than paid liars, who try to use science to justify legal spin. And if experts witnesses versions of science are diametrically opposed; let the judge or jury decide. In the end we have juries or judges deciding cases on who sounds better in court;not the scientific merits of the case. Personally, I think anyone who lies in court, legal experts and lawyers included, should pay damages. But that will never happen as those lying legal experts are primary way the lawyers fleece their clients. What percentage of court cases would never happen if lawyers couldn't find a expert witness to lie for them?
