Quite the contrary, actually. As the theory goes, in a rational market no one can go on beating market returns in a risk adjusted manner for ever. The only way to exceed market returns is to take on more risk, which blows up sooner or later. He who lives by the margin dies by the margin. Meanwhile, index fund investors are doing just fine, thank you.
