"No responsibility, no accountability"

just a quick point here...

there are plenty of si members using an alias who believe in responsibility and accountability. and there may even be some members using 'real' names who are neither of the two.

:)

I disagree. ON SI -- it has been posted in a number of areas that multiple persons on one name or sharing an account was a TOS violation. This was my original inquiry.

Pluvia has admitted to doing this. No proof necessary. If I admit to passing the RRUFFF around, I'd expect the same treatment.

The underlying issue here is keeping these boards as non-commercial opinion and fact finding entities. When they are taken over by manipulative tactics or by those seeking to use hype or manipulation to promote their private sites or to further their profit on selectively leaked "press releases" or self-styled exposes, then this tends to denigrate the ideals of an open, non-commercial place to gather for news and opinions.

The activities of this group of shorts and their affiliates is, in my opinion, manipulative and may be violative of Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder. I am certain that the administration of these boards must be kept independent and fair and that there, in no way, should be any connection between manipulative activity and the administration of these boards.

Make everyone disclose their real names, and you lose a majority of posting SI members. And most of these members are contributing valuable information.

It has been known for years that people who work for high-tech companies post on SI, if they were made to disclose their names, they would be gone.

Would be great for lawyers, people would not have to go through the legal process to get your name if someone wanted to file a suit against you. That's why the USA has so many lawyers, because in the USA, everyone sues for anything.

The day SI makes everyone disclose their names will be the end of SI.

In saying that, I never thought SI would implement the ignore feature, but I was wrong, they did.

And a short line to your post, it's a well known saying "Buyer Beware"

Pretty simple huh?

PS
I think cheerleaders for stocks are worse than bashers.
