I do have a small cash acc. w/ e-Dreyfus, and agree that it is too slow or they skim the spread in buy/sell options? Now you meant you can sell COVERED calls? right! using IRA money. I just opened a cash account with $2K...my 1st IRA account : ) I think it is more the exchange...just by judging on the price of execution on my order, & looking @ the different exchange quotes...I think they sent my order to AMEX...which is usually slower to fill than CBOE or PCX...not to mention, I don't think they always honor their quotes (in that they may up tick their quote to see if you'll chase it, or they aren't updated regularly? I am approved to sell covered calls, or just buy a call or put and then sell it/or execute it (more or less daytrade options), as margin isn't required for these types of transactions.
