You're absolutely correct. And the only reason Castro remains in power is the Miami emigre-imposed embargo. An end to the embargo will be an end to Castro.

Yes ... this case has changed my thinking on Cuba too ... i had been supporting contact for some time, but not so strongly, never really sure about it until the exiles proved themselves so totally witless that they would consider holding a son from his father. It wasn't the first black spot on their record by any means, just the last straw. It did appear that their hatred might abate somewhat when that demagogue Mas Canosa died, and a little reason and new tactics seep in, but no leader among them has come forward and denounced the theft of children for political purposes, so no such luck. They are irrelevant, it is time for someone other than the exiles to control US foreign policy ... long past time, probably. "They want to be friends, but they won't surrender" - that was said of cubanos by one of your retired admirals, i forget his name ... he has a website advocating the cessation of hostilities with Cuba. And i think people more and more come to agree with him - montrealgazette.com
