But John, in the short run, if there are behavioral punishments and the code for Windows becomes required to be opened, this can create a near term problem, however, over the long term Microsoft will make better licensing fees to counter their loss of proprietary monopolization.

By the way , an open source code will benefit all consumers, as well as benefit innovation.

Also SUNW will benefit greatly if this happens since there will be a greater need for their equipment since prospective purchasers of Microsoft based, Intel equipment will now spread the purchases to companies like Sun Microsystems IMO.
