The irony is that while SUNW has fixated on bringing down MSFT they've completely lost sight of the real threat to their own processor franchise: EMC. It wouldn't be the first time in business that personal animosity proved to be a fatal distraction, but the old processor-centric worldview that SUNW champions is being replaced by a new storage-centric paradigm as we speak. And for double irony, it is processor-neutral programming technology such as SUNW's own Java that is accelerating this transition.
