Hate to tell you but I think SUNW is going to do just fine on their own.
I just finished loading Solaris 8 on a clean drive and it's a heck of a lot more stable than some of the Linux I've been using as a testbed. I haven't grabbed Netscape for it yet but I'll probably do that too although my end app is as a file server at the corporation.

If any of you are daring enough I'll outline what you need to do to play around with it, I'm on NT now but you can run the two simultaneously.

I think GE is already in high tech -- e.g. jet engines. If you mean they want to get into computers, as I recall they were once and bailed out.

Now, *that's possible except for the fact that it would create the largest (most awesomely vertical) corporation on the planet and be subject to oversight. The two equities have much more dynamic prospects as individual entities. --- The idea though of someday receiving a SUNW dividend check in the same mailbox as the GE check makes me feel all fuzzy inside. <g> -JCJ
