I've had a bit of fun with my profile ...

I read about someone being so dim-witted that their Solar Panels faced North. I thought this was a good bit of humour so I put it in my profile. Some guy takes it seriously, and representing the Solar Energy Enthusiasts of his area posts me asking why on earth I'd face my panels North. I told him so they wouldn't get sunburnt. He responds asking why my Solar Panels are so sensitive to sunlight. I respond that I've been coating them with sunblock until my shade-trees grow high enough to cover them, but since this is expensive, I've turned them North to save money.

By now, I'm beginning to realize the guy doesn't understand that I'm simply trying to have a little fun. He's SERIOUS about solar energy!!! I post that the I'm just kidding about the whole thing. He now feels a little silly, but sees the humour. Fortunately, our correspondence was through private messages.

Lesson for me. This medium is very easy to mis-communicate and I should be extra careful with what I post. Sometimes I slip a bit.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Dunno if this stuff is off topic for this thread? Hope not.
