The median funds will always be mediocre underperformers designed to generate commissions and management fees for brokers, not make money for the clients.

It's ironic - if most funds were any good, I probably would not have shifted to managing my investments myself.

At least this is more fun.

edit-with the russell index's used as model for 175bil in market cap and the wilshire running at about 12tril, the additions/deletions could effect around 1.5% of companies shares.
