If it was just about polls we wound not need a government of men and women. A computer could handle the job of sampling polls and mapping them to edicts much more efficiently than a man.

People need to make decisions, and judging (yes I choose to judge) recent events, people need to make much better decisions. The election of William Jefferson Clinton shows how poorly grounded Americans are today. We knew BEFORE Clinton was elected that he was of questionable character, yet Americans voted for him anyway. Whether you think his conduct was legal or not, the consequences of that decision (vote) was that Clinton did do damage to the country.

Now were told that's its OK what we did to Elian because the government has manipulated the debate into a father/son issue. We already know what the future holds for Elian, Castro's own daughter was on Foxnews and described the indoctrination that all Cuban children must undergo. Yet we either don't care or revel in sticking it to Cuban Americans.

If it were just about the father why did Reno get involved? Family courts deal with custody issues every day. If the raid was to protect Elian, why did she create a situation most likely to kill or harm him? When most people decide to move on I'll still want to know the real answers. Not the BS that Reno and her cronies are peddling.
