Slider,

Gold stocks - the black hole of investments. If you gotta play look at Franco Nevada and Goldcorp.

Slider, one of the best gold plays is NEM, Newmont mining. They are one of the largest gold mining Co's and had a very minimal hedging program last time I looked into it, which was several months ago. It seems to be range bound between 21-24 lately. Buy it on the low side of the range and you can make easily make buck or two, even if nothing significant happens to the price of gold. If gold does take off, the Mo likes NEM. If gold does take off, easy run to $29, but there has been heavy selling at $29 in the past. NEM has reached $29 during some of the financial scares (like the Long Term Capital fiasco). Since the world economy did not fall apart, NEM fell back to it's current range. I have been buying under $22 and selling at $24. Not real exciting compared to tech or some of the drillers, but even with sub $300 gold, a 10% trade on NEM is pretty easy to pull off if you buy right. Plus, you are in a leveraged gold mine if there every is a real Bull in gold.

Good Luck,
Pilot
