"fwiw, i thought your leaving at that time was pretty cheesy" Bill has been posting on si non-stop since 1996 and endured hundreds of personal attacks. These attacks have almost always occurred in any tech correction. There have been plenty of "particularly rough times," as there have more than 20 10% nasdaq drops since mid 1996. How has he responded to these personal attacks? Dozens of folks have had there heads handed to them while opposing Bill's trades and not once has Bill rubbed their losses in their faces. I don't think si pays Bill enough for him to stay around once things escalated from calling him an idiot to suggestions that he would be the "first to lose all this money" and personal attacks in pm. SI has some good archives. You may want to review Bill's history. While you are at it, check out how Bill responded folks like Glenn,and HJ who were getting slaughtered shorting stocks that Bill was long on.
