I still don't understand how MSFT could pay off a put warrant with stock... lets say I hold 1000 warrants with a strike of 78 and the price is 60 on day of expiration. How does MSFT compensate me with stock for the 18 value of that warrant? Are you suggesting that they divide the current value of the warrant (strike less price) and give the holder the number of shares of MSFT stock that have an equivalent value? Seems pretty convoluted and unlikely... perhaps someone knows the specifics of the warrant contracts and could clear this up.
