OT> Kevin, a local Iris "pro" once gave me some tips. . .he prefers resetting in mid-August. . .then again, TN is not MA. . .another thing he says is the trick to growing Irises is not to mulch. He says most people plant them too deep then mulch them. . . Instead, he says that the roots should be just under the soil. . .literally with the top of the roots visible to the eye. . .and to the sun. . . with no mulch. . . his sure do well. . .as do the ones he gave me. . .[Incidently, he is a retired CFO . . from one of the leading companies. . .like General Foods or DuPont . . .I can't recall.] That black Iris sounds way cool. . .you'll have to get another.
