benchpress550: I will try: (1) I would not set up a system to compare stock pickers. I am not interested enough in other peoples' picks to compare them systematically. Like you, I value fairness and simplicity. I think that comparing what Gilder does to what the other guy does is neither fair nor simple. (2) See (1), above. I certainly would not simply accept naked assertions published after-the-fact. (3) See (2), above. (4) No. My only interest in Gilder is that he holds a very large equity stake in a company that I watch. In concluding that Gilder is an ethical person, I have placed great weight on his circumspection regarding any public commentary on a company in which he holds so large a stake. You sound as though you have hard feelings about something. I cannot imagine that I caused them. But if I did something to exacerbate them, please forgive me. I did not mean any harm.
