Sounds like your griping the club in the palm. Should be more in the fingers. Do this...

take a grip as you normally do. Stand with club out in front of you and arms extended as if you are in the middle of a baseball swing. Rotate torso left and right letting arms swing with torso. You should be able to feel the club moving a little in your hands.

Now... This is going to be somewhat difficult to explain as I am going to try to get you to grip the club in your fingers and not in your palm. First, place your club in the knuckles of your left hand. Should cross from the exterior (knuckle closest to the end of finger) of the pointer finger to the interior knuckle (closest to palm) of the pinkie finger. Wrap fingers around club and lay wrist down to normal grip position. At this point your palm should not be touching the grip. Before putting right hand on grip take your stance. The "V" formed with the thumb and pointer finger should be pointing toward your right shoulder (neutral grip position). If it is not... adjust the grip as necessary to get your "V" in the proper position. Make sure when you adjust it that the palm stays off the club.

Pause here to define palm. In the above commentary I am referring to the palm as the fatty bottom part of the hand nearest to the wrist.

Now, the right hand. I will assume you are using an overlap grip as that is the most common. If your interlock or 10 finger is it really no difference. Anyway place the club through the knuckles of your right hand and place your overlap as you normally would. When you lay the thumb down the "V" on the right hand should point the EXACT same direction as the "V" on the left hand.

Now do the baseball rotation drill. The club should feel more "secure" in the new grip because it is no longer sliding along your palm.

It is going to feel very odd when you start working with this grip. And you may feel like finding this guy named Magnatizer and depositing your 3 iron.... If it gets to this point go see a good PGA pro and have em take a look at your grip. It is the single most important part of the entire golf swing IMO and should be properly applied.
