I deeply suspect that Fuller/BOD will continue to try to push the deal through using every and all corporate dirty tricks behind closed doors.

While I missed the conference call, from what I understand, this may not be the case at all. In fact, Fuller stated he was "surprised" by the horrible numbers CORL reported (I'm not sure why he would be; as Rod has pointed out they are shoveling crap to begin with), is undertaking a reassessment of the deal, and generally seemed to present something of an attitude. During the call, he was hit with numerous questions that must have been very uncomforable for him.

At any rate, there has been some speculation over the last few days that he is now tacitly pushing for a voter rejection to avoid the $30M forfeiture.

Because it would be quite unusual for a Board to take action like this without most of the big stockholders on board, I had assumed that Merrill was in agreement. After the conference call, however, I heard some talk that Merrill's people were pissed. Perhaps someone can confirm this.
