My take on this stat is that it tends to show that "real Gorillas", do not show up as frequently as we'd like, and in the interim period, we take a higher risk profile with kings and shiny pebbles.

I am one of these people who have invested in this manner. Back when I started studying the stock market. I listened well to the Motley Fools. I went looking for markets. It took me 6 months (forgive me for I am slow) to determine that the Internet/High Tech is THE market. Even though I had not read the Gorilla Game at that time. I had determined the Internet to be the Gorilla market...with, in hindsight, characteristics of what our FM states a Gorilla to be. I think many of my threadmates have determined the same. And therefore, the result of their picks are more a confidence in the market, than it is, simply taking greater risk. I have held all the silverbacks...But have chosen to go with smaller up and comers due to my perceived increase in returns...along with my confidence in the market inwhich they operate.
