Mark,

Did you listen to the CC's of WDC, HDD and MXTR ? What do you think? I am encouraged especially regarding their statements about emphasizing profitability over market share.

Another item. Share prices of the 3 are uniformly about 50% higher than they were in the week following Y99Q4 reports. And that was 50% higher than the prev Q. And it matches the companies' improving fundamentals. Since DD demand should be better in the next 3 quarters, I think this trend could easily continue. Giving us at least a further 100% appreciation by January.

Regarding the price survey, I use a different method from yours. I keep track of the lowest price for a popular size model such as a 20GB drive. And see how it is holding up. And I did see a larger drop for these and the 10GB in March. I think the large number of drives you survey dampens the effect of the newest price changes. But It is still very useful and I appreciate your sharing it with us free-loaders.

Regards,
-Sarmad
