Amy re <<RE: "What are you talking about? Netscape came before IE, way before! "

Mani,

Did it?>>

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

Mosaic was what it was called and it was developed before MSFT had any development for an internet browser. Gates admitted to this under oath on his testimony as well.

Re <<You sound like you do not know what existed under the hood. >>

Apparently neither did Bill Gates.

Mosaic was developed by the founder of Netscape before the word "Internet" existed. Microsoft was very late to the party.

Re <<Do you really think a designer would not develop a transport mechanism to the Internet and not deploy it in the OS so that *all* application developers can benefit from this equally and freely?>>

What is Internet? Who cares! All we have to do at MSFT is to protect our OS vs. the competition and few kids playing with this so called web is no danger and has no commercial worth.

Microsoft completely screwed up and ignored the Internet craze in the beginning. So much for Bill Gate's vision! But of course they are now a big player because of all the crap they pulled.
