Mike,

>"Ms. Barad will receive far more than her
>most recent employment contract called for."

OK, I stand corrected.

But if you think that lawsuits will accomplish anything,
you're naive. Even the common sense question
whether the company was mismanaged, does not have
a simple answer. Of course, everyone wanted Jill's
head, but it was emotional response.
The only big error during her career was the TLC
buyout. And that's in the hindsight. At the time
of the deal majority of the people were cheering how
TLC will propel MAT into Internet era. (I wasn't
and I consider selling of TLC now a mistake, but
I'm not a CEO, so sue me.)

And now I'll shut up because these rants don't
add any value to the investment decisions.

Jurgis

Additionally, Pleasant Rowland has also resigned from the board, remaining in charge of The Pleasant Company

She must rue the day she sold out to Mattel. She got a bundle of money, but I think they are in the process of dragging the company she created down into the mud with them. If we're lucky, Mattel will spin her off and she can try to pick up the pieces.

The real irony is, she's probably the only person at Mattel who knows how to run a company and knows how to market toys.
