OK Jim, they would have to change the name to make it exporting countries and producing companies. Now how much do you think a barrel of oil would be going for? :-)

I expect I'm a lot closer to the daily operations of various government agencies than most on this thread, and they're probably worse than even you think. But that's because they have a monopoly on what they do so they can do a terrible job and there's no competition to displace them. If you let the oil companies, or a software company, or any other organization or group have a complete, unregulated, monopoly on just about anything, it will sooner or later become just as grossly inefficient as the government agencies that you are thinking about.

I think we both wish this weren't the case, you think it isn't the case, but I'm pretty sure it is.

We all have to reach our own conclusions.
