"Gadzoox(R) Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOX), a leading provider of SAN (storage area network) products, today announced that the company will be demonstrating the industry's first fibre channel to gigabit Ethernet router at the Networld+Interop 2000 Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 9-11."

IF Zoox was at Ancor this may be one of the reasons. At last year's shareholder meeting there were questions about the alleged IBM-Ancor router and NTT-Ancor ATM to FC device. The response was that Ancor was not actively working on any of these devices, but was cooperating with several companies who were, in order to be interoperable.

Re 2 from Zoox - Chalk up 2 for Marketing

Zoox's Murali Rajagopal chairs the IPFC work group. March was supposed to have seen submission of (A) Fabric Management MIB to IESG for consideration as a Proposed Standard, and (B) IP and ARP Over Fibre Channel to IESG for consideration as a Draft Standard. They must be further along for Lucent to get interested.

Great. Which one are they using? More than one choice here. Some of them will be in Vegas too. If Zoox made it and will be selling it, what's the zoox model name and number? Maybe it's just a demonstration of another "capability," like fabric.

PS - FC to ATM and FC to SONET already available too.
