Well- I can tell you that the guidelines the ALJ's use are very tailored to young children's thought processes. For example they try never to mix two questions together- a hypothetical they use in the guidelines is "Was your mother killed when you were 6?" - - this is an unacceptable question because it combines 2 questions (were you six when your mother was killed, and was your mother killed). According to the ALJ guidelines a question like that would be broken down into 2 questions.

In this case I am sure any ALJ will be very sensitive to the scrutiny any decision will receive- and I would guess that this will be the most carefully considered child asylum case ever.

Of course people will still bitch about it- but it won't be reasonable bitching.
