You can't yell at these companies, WE (shareholders) DEMAND they screw the consumer, and don't for a minute think we don't. If AMD made $.01 a CPU they would still be profitable, but we demand they make as much per CPU as possible.

You're absolutely right. And that of course is why this issue is so heated on this board....because people have interests in MSFT. Many years ago I used to work for an oil company and was perversely happy when the price of oil went up...but as a consumer (and computer junkie) I'm somewhat resentful of MSFT's monopoly pricing and their control of the os and applications market. Some of the same reasons why I like AMD suceeding even more than just the $$ (although, that, of course, is my bottom line <g>).
