No, it makes very little difference, most entry level positions on the university level pay worse than some of the wealthier school districts, in fact. If one is a full professor, perhaps even an associate professor, at a very wealthy school, one might draw six figures. But that is not typical of the profession.

In any case, if we do not want to divert resources to inappropriate places, we will not artificially raise salaries.....
