Nasdaq Stock Market

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2000--Ampal-American Israel Corporation (AMEX:AIS - news) announced today that it is
switching the listing of its Class A Stock from the American Stock Exchange to the Nasdaq Stock Market©.

Effective Monday, May 1, 2000, the Company's Class A Stock will trade under the symbol AMPL.

Ampal's management believes that Nasdaq's multiple market maker structure will provide Ampal with enhanced visibility and liquidity.
