Barry, Computer Internet B2B

My guess is that these virtual marketplaces have a tendency to commoditize products, and lower the cost to the buyer at the expense of the vendor. In addition, Intel (from my memory) does 50% +/- (and growing) of their business over the Internet with their own proprietary system. So they are already recognizing the internal cost savings.

Again, my guess is that Intel has little to gain from participation. Is Compaq or HP going to discontinue Intel processors because they are not on the system? Could the pricing become more competitive with AMD if Intel does participate? I would guess the answers are no and yes.
