In other news, communications network operator Global
Crossing (GBLX) said it would explore the possibility of
selling the local phone operations that it acquired when its
bought Frontier Corp. last year. Global hired Chase
Securities and Merrill Lynch for the potential sale, as the
company sees long-distance services and Web hosting as
