nice comment on the soros thing. had forgotten that. they played the game to boost their returns and lost by staying too long. story in the journal (maybe monday's) where druckenmiller talks about what went wrong. and in today's journal some stuff on putnam funds... more confirmation that powerful firms had and have become nothing less than momentum players and daytraders.... so much for the often touted holier than thou attitude of the paid wall street bevy of professionals who push "long term" and handle money better than the daytrading mo-mo masses of the public. now it's...... the mutual fund who blinks last, bails last. it is difficult to get beyond beleiving there is deep poop just about everywhere in this market waiting for the ill-prepared or the ill-conceived investment strategy to step right in the middle of it. think i'll take at least the summer off, no matter how high the crap rises. regards J
