Integrating more features into the OS should be considered good! This allows consumers to get more features for free. Also, many times the included features are a baseline, so the consumer can go get more full-featured products from other companies or microsoft.

Microsoft has never bullied computer makers to carry ONLY their software. Netscape could have been installed and was installed by some manufacturers. However, I think it should be ok for MS to insist that Windows ship with IE since it is integrated. Ballmer saying that Microsoft's stock price was too high is not a blunder. I like it when executives ask investors to be rational. A PE of 65 for a company growing at 20% is not rational in many people's minds. An artificially high stock price leads to busts...

Jon: I agree with your accessment. Thing is, Ballmer has been set in a mold and everytime he makes a statement the stock drops a few points. Ths Ballmer effect.
