I think what gets people excited about Rand initially is that her description of the problem and her understanding of the motives and attitudes of the enemy are right on. The President in Atlas IS Bill Clinton. Reardon's wife and brother I swear are posting regularly on this thread.

This enthusiasm wains when the implications of her solutions are understood to be dead ends.
