Jim Willie CB ---Am I right in that the import/export imbalance at present takes about 1.5% off the National GDP figures ? If that is true Greenspan really wants A GDP of only 2.5% to 3% ?

the risk of a serious costly Federal Reserve error is rising every single day

A concern that I have is that some of the inflation observed in various current economic numbers is the lagged result of an increase in the money supply prior to Y2K. That excess liquidity was drained after the beginning of this year.

If the lagged results of the draining and more interest rate increases simultaneously "hit" the economy, a recession may well occur. Not a pretty picture.
