Scumbria, The analyst who made those remarks believes that AMD is not a factor in the mainstream PC market going out into the future. It is amazing to me that there are paid professionals who continue to maintain this point of view. That would be a Dataquest-paid professional -- one of the largest, most respected, most connected research houses in the business. Maybe he just believes that they won't be any more of a force than they have been, which is minimal. Do you think that all of Intel's customers will be willing to pay a price premium for DRDRAM? Well, the Dataquest folks believe that the price of RDRAM will come down to below that of SDRAM (see my recent 2-part post -- I don't have the links on this machine). Dave
