Of course, this employee-as-vendor stuff pales in comparison to Jill's haul...I would not be surprised if there is more than meets the eye regarding her platinum, diamond-studded, gold-leafed parachute... It's sure one of the most incomprehensible things I've seen (though it may not be unusual). I mean, how much leverage could she have had to negotiate such a lucrative package after presiding over a strategy that essentially decimated the net worth of the company and reduced stockholder value by about 75%? I'd hate to be a manager at Mattel and have to fire an assistant brand manager because his writing or analytical skills don't measure up to expectations.
