Leniency is a term that is used for one way of dealing with a crime or sin. It stands to reason that you classify any abortion as a crime or sin. You're free to do that as a private citizen, but the other implication of "leniency" - suspended penalty in a criminal proceeding in a court of law - speaks volumes. To me, anyway. I am opposed in principle to codifying a moral opinion as criminal law.

I don't think I laid charges of inconsistency at your feet. I think your arguments are consistent ... but in my humble opinion they advocate an assault on civil liberty. This is why I am taking the time to rebut them; I am deducing an endorsement of authoritarianism. If I am doing so faultily, please advise ... but if you follow my reasoning, please think about it, about the implications of what I view as an incursion of church into court.
