Kash, But IMHO the split in MSFT as proposed is not a bad idea either for shareholders or the consumer. It seems more and more the consensus that splitting the company in two should maybe be a good move for MSFT, but on a voluntary base. I always wonder in this time of spinn-offs and shareholder value, why they never came up with it themselves. Probably just an ego problem. Bert Edit: The greatest feature on SI is the spellchecker. Sometimes I have to re-edit 3 or 4 times to get everything right, but at least it makes it possible to produce readable text. Even for me.

Article on CNET: Start-up change of heart derails AMD plans yahoo.cnet.com I guess this is old news now, but I personally didn't know about it until today. In any case, in my opinion this is big. I read about HotRail's 8-way chipset architecture in MPR, and it sure looked like a strong, solid design. Plus, I figured HotRail would be the first company to release an 8-way Athlon chipset, well ahead of AMD and API. I guess it's up to AMD and API now to release an 8-way solution using LDT. But when is that scheduled to arrive? Will it be here soon enough given that Intel is gearing up for major launches of Itanium and Foster in the server arena? And is anyone else going to make server chipsets for AMD? Tenchusatsu
